Linda Cooney -
Linda Cooney RVT, BASVT, has been practicing in the veterinary technical field since graduating from St. Lawrence College, as a Registered Veterinary Technologist.  After graduation, Linda completed an eight-week pet grooming course at a "Touch of Class" grooming academy, in Calgary, Alberta.  She then worked as head technologist in a private practice for 18 years.  Since 2008, she has taught "Grooming Your Dog" and "First Aid for Pets", at Algonquin College, Pembroke Campus, allowing more time to be home and raise their two children.  Linda has also recently completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology, from St. Petersburg College in Florida, graduating the 4th of May, 2013, in Tampa Bay, Florida.  She is active with her dogs in conformation, obedience, rally, and agility.  Linda is a long time member of OVPDC & a life member of CKC.  Her other passion has always been cats.  Cats are the reason for her career choice.  After loosing her almost 19 year old American Shorthair, SunnyLo's Sergeant Tibbs (18 July 1993 - 14 June 2012), Linda felt the house was not a home without a cat. She wanted another American Shorthair to fill the void.  Seven months of searching and waiting for a silver tabby, Linda and Kevin ended up purchasing the Gentle Isle Cattery (American Shorthairs), from Prince Edward Island.  She is excited to be showing cats again and breeding American Shorthairs under Kalins Cattery.  Linda is a member of the CCA and the TICA.

Kevin MacWilliams -
Kevin has always enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.  Animals have been a part of his life since a boy growing up on a farm in Prince Edward Island.  One of his first dogs as an adult was a Springer Spaniel,  but after some guidance and exposure through a Brittany Spaniel  breeder and professional trainer, he soon saw that pointing breeds were his passion.
His first pointing dog was a Vizsla, which he trained and hunted from horseback.  After a few years without a dog, Kevin saw a Stradivarius Shorthair and remembered the beautiful German Shorthaired Pointers he had seen while posted to Germany with the Canadian Military.  GSP's have been a part of his life since the purchase of Stradivarius The Butler Did It, in 1993.  Kevin has tested his Shorthairs in CKC, NAVHDA (with multiple Utility Prize 1 titles), and German Field Tests.  The first litter bred, produced the top CKC Field Dog Junior in 1999.  Kevin's new line are imported from Germany, and Vito Vom Osterberg had one of the top VJP scores in North America in 2006.
Kevin has been involved with the Ottawa Valley Pointing Dog Club since 1993 (before it was the OVPDC), holding positions as Field Director, President, for over a decade, and presently President and Field Director.  Kevin is a CKC member and has been on the CKC Pointing Dog Council as a representative for Eastern Ontario since 2010.  He has also recently become a CKC Field Test Judge for FDJr., FD, and FDX.  Since 2005 Deutsch Kurzhaar testing of the German system has been a regular part of life.
